God I Loved Snow
--
Many winters’ days, I woke up at first light, to the odd squeal of a car tire spinning on ice. Wheeee, wheeeee… then look out my bedroom window, to confirm, and see an alien landscape of snow-topped bushes. None of the usual commuters, or anything moving, just the weeee, weeee in the distance. The road was useless, buried under a blanket of white.
Yet joy leapt into my heart… no school, snow day for sure! Screw the assignments that I didn’t do last night. It was a pardon. It would be a day of fun and adventure. And boundless riches.
