My first memory

I’m just ending my 68th year on earth — much to my surprise. I was born on December 26th 1950. I was a day late to imitate Christ, and envied all those who had birthdays during the school year when they could be the center of attention and showered with a birthday party in the classroom. My first memory was being in a hospital, when I was about 4 years old. I’d had a hernia operation, which happened when I was an energetic toddler, and I guess my little gut just couldn’t stand the running, falling, and stretching of a toddler.
